Overview
Understanding Co-Occurring Disorders
The majority of people with substance use disorders also have a co-occurring mental health condition — and vice versa. Anxiety, depression, trauma, and bipolar disorder all significantly increase the risk of substance use as a coping mechanism. And substance use dramatically worsens mental health symptoms. They are deeply interconnected, and they require integrated treatment.
Our co-occurring disorder program does not silo mental health and substance use. Every client receives a unified treatment plan that addresses both conditions through the same clinical team, the same Lemon Reset™ framework, and coordinated medication management when appropriate. This integration produces better outcomes than separate, sequential treatment.
