About
My name is Carli Sterling (she/her) and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in CA. I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology from UC Santa Cruz and Master in Counseling Psychology from Palo Alto University. Trauma-informed care, mood disorders, and eating disorders are my wheelhouse. Wheelhouses? Wheel homes.
I believe that healing, change, and transformation are possible for anyone. I consider session time a sacred space and am continually humbled and honored to bear witness to people evolving right before my eyes. I believe inclusivity, happiness, and safety are basic human rights. The root of my therapeutic framework is love (sappy, I know). In more technical turns, I work from an attachment lens, often intertwined with a trauma-informed lens. My approach is gentle and nurturing, with sprinkles of humor (when clinically appropriate).
Outside of therapy, I enjoy swimming, yoga, wakeboarding, producing music; painting geometric designs on patio tables (super specific, I know). I geek out on investment trading strategies for stocks and cryptocurrency. During the pandemic, I taught myself how to change fancy watch batteries and install ClosetMaid systems. I tend to go through phases of very niche interests and hobbies. My current endeavors are fixing the electrical outlets in my house and setting up a drop shipping store. I LOVE Mariah Carey. I’m a single mom of a 3-year-old mini-me. She’s a cool kid, but I work from home and she is the worst co-worker I’ve ever had. Always open to consulting and helping in any way I can.
