About
My strengths include the fact that I meet my clients where they are today and provide them with mutual respect. The rapport we build together can make therapy a more comfortable experience. Therapy does not need to be scary, it can begin as simply a laying out of one’s thoughts and feelings. It then often happens naturally that you feel comfortable sharing and processing the more difficult things.
My therapeutic style is compassionate, nurturing, active and engaged. I deeply believe clients can recover from past traumas and work through current challenges, to emerge as their authentic selves.
I believe in and have seen amazing growth in my clients and I love helping them find their own inner strengths. I believe that as humans we are designed to be able to heal.
I completed my Master of Social Work degree at Tulane University, graduating summa cum laude. I have been honored to serve clients with trauma-informed counseling using cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Bowenian family systems theory, emotionally-focused therapy (EFT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I am an EMDR trained therapist.

“Danica has been a God send for me. I had been postponing getting support, and finally decided to take a chance. From our first appointment, I have felt that I was working with somebody who truly is helping me to rediscover/uncover my true self and strengths to meet the challenges that life can bring. She is helping me to work to address issues, reframe them in a practical way, while encouraging me to take care of myself through healthy engagement (and sometimes disengagement) with the world around me. I am very grateful to have her professionalism and expertise to navigate through these tumultuous times. Mostly, I appreciate her working with me to create a safe caring environment that allows me to gain the tools so that I can have the confidence to manage these challenges myself, on my own terms. Her understated manner works very well for me, as I can tell that she truly listens and is present.”
“Danica is the best! I am so grateful to have her as my therapist. She’s really been helping me navigate difficult situations and build confidence in myself.”
“I feel like I won the therapist lottery with Danica. Our sessions are so helpful. I was afraid therapy would feel heavy or bad, but I always end my sessions feeling better! I still have a lot I want to accomplish in therapy, and I feel hopeful for the future. Super grateful to have found her.”
“Danica offers an open forum for me to express my thoughts and concerns, and has provided me with insights and suggestions to work through complex issues. She is very kind and thoughtful, and I have been surprised at how comfortable I have felt in working through issues that, while can be difficult to navigate, feel less daunting with her open manner.”
