As a second-generation, Korean American daughter of immigrant parents, I can understand the stigma and intimidation of beginning a therapeutic journey. Growing up in multicultural spaces can be confusing, trying to navigate the world through your lens when comparing yourself to various standards. As the first in my family to receive a Master’s degree in Marital Family Therapy with Specialized Training in Art Therapy from Loyola Marymount University, I offer a creative space for clients to freely express themselves without judgment or critique. I enjoy listening to your lived experiences to guide you in understanding your anxiety, depression, trauma, and the impact that it leaves on your life’s perspectives.

I am experienced with working with AAPI/BIPOC folks who struggle with navigating their multicultural backgrounds(ie. Bicultural families, transnational adoptees, immigrant parents, etc). As a Registered Art Therapist, we can utilize creative ways to explore identity and family dynamics. Additionally, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing(EMDR) to target traumatic memories towards healing. I will gently challenge your negative thought patterns in a Cognitive Behavior Therapy lens to inform how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors impact one another and how we can shift your perspective.

I am here to help you identify and express your authentic self. It won’t necessarily be easy or comfortable. I believe that growth and progress are not linear, but we can identify your stuck patterns, work on developing a growth mindset, and establish a more secure sense of self.
