About

Hello, I’m Maria.

I find that my approach to therapy encompasses the discovery of each person’s wholeness through the process of self-exploration, finding safety in allowing yourself to speak from your voice, and incorporating practices that support the growth of a more empowered version of yourself. I work on getting to know the person at their essence, addressing personal needs in relationships, and building awareness about core areas of focus in life patterns, in order to get you to where you want to be. I believe therapy is a collaborative experience of personal accountability and authentic regard for healing.

Some of my specialties are working with life transitions, body image issues, attachment and relational trauma, depression, PTSD, anxiety, panic disorder, women’s issues, boundary setting, and improving self-esteem from a strength-based lens. I am especially passionate about working with older adolescents, young adults, and adults, who are going through difficult times while also highlighting the positives of seeking therapy at any phase of life. I am certified in several evidence-based practices use experiential therapy, psychodynamic approaches, and trauma-responsive treatment to process difficult emotions and improve the use of coping skills that are tailored to each person’s specific needs.

Together, we will work to improve reactions to stressors, build awareness about life patterns, and address alternative responses, to improve healthier relationships, WHOLEsome well-being, and positive self-image.

I am a bilingual Spanish-speaking Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with many years of experience working in community mental health and private practice. I received my Master’s in Clinical Psychology with emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University in 2017. My experience encompasses a variety of clinical settings and services provided to individuals of diverse backgrounds. I am an empathetic and communicative person who enjoys providing services that are aligned with each unique person from an understanding of personal experience.
