What Insurance Typically Covers

Coverage by Level of Care

Most major insurance plans cover all four levels of care — subject to medical necessity criteria that our clinical team documents and advocates for on your behalf.

Outpatient Therapy

Typically covered as a standard mental health benefit. Copays similar to a regular doctor visit. Most plans cover 20–52 sessions per year.

IOP / vIOP

Covered under mental health intensive outpatient benefits. Medical necessity documentation required. Pre-authorization often needed.

PHP

Covered under partial hospitalization benefits. Higher intensity means more documentation and ongoing medical necessity reviews.

Residential (RTC)

Covered under inpatient or residential mental health benefits. Pre-authorization required. Our team handles all documentation.

Out-of-Pocket Costs

Understanding Your Financial Responsibility

Your out-of-pocket costs depend on your specific insurance plan — your deductible, copay, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket maximum all factor in. We explain this in plain language before you begin.

Deductible

The amount you pay before insurance begins covering costs

Copay

A fixed amount per session or day of treatment

Coinsurance

Your percentage after the deductible is met

Out-of-pocket maximum

The most you will pay in a plan year

In-network vs out-of-network

Significant cost difference; we verify this
