About Heather

Dr. Brogan specializes and most enjoys working with children, teens, and their families to address behavioral issues, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and other parenting and family challenges. She has worked in various settings, hospitals, schools, community mental health, and outpatient centers with children and parents and finds this work the most challenging and fun. She has helped develop parenting curriculum in various settings, as well as group curricula for young children and adolescents. Dr. Brogan has also worked with adolescents and children struggling with anxiety, depression, childhood trauma, OCD, and parent child relational issues. While she specializes in working with young children and adolescents, she has worked with young adults and adults of all ages in both outpatient or intensive outpatient settings, using a variety of modalities. Her clinical preferences tend to be using Parent Management or Training techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness approaches.

Dr. Brogan earned her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology in 2016, with a specialization in Child Psychology, from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, and is currently pursuing independent licensure. She was born and raised in the San Francisco bay area, Clinically. Dr. Brogan believes in building a strong alliance with clients and families, and working in collaboration to help all achieve their goals and wellness. Building a sense of safety and trust, particularly virtually is incredibly important, and Dr. Brogan will spend time ensuring you and your child are comfortable with treatment and the treatment plan. Sessions involving any child or adolescent include regular parent contact and participation in some capacity as family is important and no child or adolescent can fully change without the help and support of their parents. Dr. Brogan’s goals are to strengthen family bonds and connections while alleviating suffering. When not working, Dr. Brogan enjoys all things Disney, board games, and spending time with her niece, nephew, and pitbull dog.
