Inside The Mindful Lemon
See the Program for Yourself
A short look inside our Los Angeles residential house — the environment, the rhythm of the day, and the people who make it feel like home from the moment you arrive.
Structure of Residential
A Day at The Mindful Lemon
Every day in our residential program is intentionally structured — because predictable rhythms create the safety within which real healing can happen.
Transition Planning
We Plan for What Comes Next
Discharge planning begins from day one at The Mindful Lemon. Residential treatment is a chapter — not the whole story. Our clinical team works with you to ensure a smooth, supported transition to the next level of care.
Most clients transition to IOP or outpatient therapy following residential — remaining within The Mindful Lemon system so your care stays connected and your story doesn’t have to be retold.
Answering Your Questions
Residential FAQs
We create a personalized step-down plan that may include Virtual IOP, in-person IOP, or outpatient therapy — often with the same clinical team, always within the same Lemon Reset™ framework. Our goal is continuity, not disruption: when less structure is appropriate, we step down with you.

Residential care is immersive by design — it’s for people who need to pause daily responsibilities and focus fully on healing. If you need to maintain work or school, our Virtual IOP or outpatient services may be the better fit, and we’ll help you decide.
Length of stay is determined by your clinical needs and insurance coverage. Most clients stay 21–45 days, with options to extend when appropriate. Progress and discharge planning are reviewed weekly with your clinical team.
Days follow a consistent rhythm of individual therapy, group therapy, DBT skills training and psychoeducation, mindfulness practice, holistic services, meals, and intentional rest. Structure is part of the treatment — predictable days support regulation, which is where the Lemon Reset™ begins.
TML Villa Canyon is our private, 6-bed residence in Castaic, CA — quiet, structured, and home-like rather than institutional. You’ll have a shared or semi-private room, daily routines, a peaceful setting, and 24/7 access to staff.
We are not a medical detox facility — clients must be medically stable before admission. If detox is needed first, we can refer you to a trusted provider and coordinate your step-down into our care after stabilization.
Our residential program serves adults 18 and older, specializing in mental health and dual-diagnosis care. Common conditions include depression, anxiety, PTSD and trauma-related disorders, personality disorders, suicidal ideation, substance use, and emotional dysregulation.
If outpatient therapy hasn’t been enough, if you’re struggling to stay safe or regulated on your own, or if you feel emotionally overwhelmed most of the time — residential care may be the right next step. Our free clinical assessment will confirm fit, or you can start with the Care Quiz for a quick recommendation.
