IOP meets 3–5 days per week for approximately 3 hours per session, allowing more schedule flexibility. PHP is more intensive — 5 days per week, 5–6 hours per day. PHP is appropriate when IOP is not providing enough structure, when stepping down from residential, or when symptoms require daily clinical attention and monitoring.
